The association exclusively and directly aims at the promotion of project management and the job profile of project manager, respectively the branch of science project management of business administration in Austrian higher education. The objects of consideration are the management of individual projects and project-oriented organisations. The project management tasks - planning and control, development of project-specific values, norms and rules, communication and control of persons as well as the design of the project environmental relations - are examined with regard to the target variables performance, deadlines, resources and costs. The activities of the association are not aimed at making a profit.

The basic direction of the medium - this website - is the sale of tickets for the IPMA 15th Research Conference, held on 19–21 May 2027 in Vienna and organised by Projekt Management Austria.
